"Courtyard Key West Waterfront!"

I think Courtyard Key West Waterfront is one of the best bargains in town. The reason it's such a bargain is because it's not located in town, at least not in popular Old Town.

The 10-minute distance from the attractions gives you a sharp drop in price for a very nice room that you will find to be clean and comfortable.

Along with the 68 good rooms and suites, I like the private sunbathing beach, the 300-foot observation boardwalk, and the swimming pool, which is larger than most on the island. You actually can swim in it!

Don't let the short distance from Duval Street deter you. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from "downtown" from 8 am to 11 pm. It will save you a small fortune in taxicab fares.

You can get breakfast indoors at the Courtyard Cafe and lunch outdoors at the Tiki Bar, amid the lush tropical setting by the pool.

The staff, headed by Anne Perina, the general manager, provides first-rate service.

One thing I found to be particularly interesting at this hotel is the historic pictorial gallery filled with old photographs of Key West and the Florida Keys.
